Friday 24 Jul

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well and settling down for the weekend. I am doing ok. Wednesday was chemo so these last two days included a lot of sleeping. Tomorrow should be better. The treatment has become a routine and I know what to expect and how my body will react. This makes things a bit easier I guess. The good news is that today marks the 2.5 week point and thats progress.

The radiation is affecting my throat / mouth more now making it tougher to talk and swallow. So, if I dont call you back or am quite around you, please dont be offended. The doctors did give me some med to help with this but like most of you, I hate taking all that medicine.

I am solely relying on my feeding tube now for food intake and thats fine. At least my body is getting the liquids and vitamins it needs.

My older brother Cliff is coming home in four days from Hong Kong to hep take care of me. Thats cool.

Ok you are up to date now. Go enjoy your weekends and have a beer, BBQ, Korean food, pizza and some chinese food for me!!! I had another dream last night where I was enjoying some Greek food! LOL

Take care and thank you all for caring about me.

Ed

  2. my dear Ed.
How are you? This is your long lost friend, lululucia...Ricky and I just recently heard the news about your situation from sandy and natalie...I couldn't believe that nobody told us earlier..Well, maybe you did not want us to worry about you.*_* I read your blog and truly am happy for you. You are so strong and that really encourages me. Guess what? I just had a vocal cord surgery (to remove the polyp on my vocal cord) on Monday, the 20th. I am not allowed to talk for the first 2 weeks (a person like me, you know it's super duper hard ...) and ya. only liquid food for these two weeks..so, brother, I know how you feel...I missed the REAL food too. It's only the fifth day for me and I already started complaining ..but listen to you...I should not have any more complains...I know God's grace is sufficient for you to use. and I believe whatever you experience right now will truly bring blessings to the people around you. Brother, take good care and let us know if there is anything we can do for you. We will keep praying for you. and if you don't mind. we will share your situation with our church memebers, so everyone can pray for you. I love you ! -the quiet lulu

  3. Hey Kiddo -
I had #3 Chemo Mon. Like you sleep is the mission of the day(s). Until I see that YOU
took a walk so of course that was on my mind. Weds was a better day and I took a walk around the block with my pup. A very slow walk. Thanks for a kick in the six. You have Mom's
homemade soup!?! That's better than ANY treatment! I'm on my way over!!
    Hugs,
    Regina

  4. Hey, Ed! It's Nick and Trish here. We just want you to know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers. The other night Miguel told us after we asked him if he already said his prayers, he said "Yes, and I also prayed that He'll cure Uncle Ed soon."

Let us know what you need...whenever.

We know you can't talk right now so we'll be keeping an eye on your FB status!

  6. Eddie--
All that talk about food makes me hungry too! But not for Greek food!! Eddie--Remember that squad party when you got drunk and were laughing at everyones jokes--everyone laughed harder because you were cracking up over jokes with no punch lines?? Classic. I had tears in my eyes, I laughed so hard. We will laugh like that again when you get better. Fight, fight, fight!!

  7. Andrew, great to hear from you. I hope all is well with you and the family. Please say hi to Jen for me and wish her the best. I think about those families often and worry about them.

Hello Lucia! Regina, Nick, Trish, Brian and Cinna! Hope you are all doing well. Thanks for your thoughts and wishes. You all are the best.

Now with the anonymous person claiming that I got drunk at some party.... I deny it!!! LOL I slightly remember that.

  10. Hi Ed!

What a fighter you are. And we would expect nothing less from a Lee. Your entire Vancouver family is behind you in thought and prayers, and we have no doubt that you'll look at this challenge square in the eye, then kick it in the butt so surely and swiftly that it won't know what hit it.

Thanks for keeping us updated in your blog. We do read it often and it's great to know how you're doing. Awesome spirit!

  11. Hello Ed,
Greetings from your family in the Philippines!
We’re keeping track of your progress through your blog and phone calls to Atchi, Susan, Al, Tricia and Tom. It’s frustrating to be so far away and not be able to help out. All we can do at the moment is to pound the gates of heaven for His intercession.
God is Good, Ed. He will listen to our prayers and will heal you.
Looking forward to your next visit here.
We love you, Anna and Chelsea very, very much. Mario and Linda

  12. Ed,

Wow, it sure sounds as if you are handling this exactly the way you should. You're getting your rest, taking in your nourishment and not wearing out your throat by talking. Great weekend out here--motorcycle ride to a bbq on Saturday and golf on Sunday.

Thanks for keeping us all updated on your status. Hang in there, my brother warrior.
